Admissions Requirements and Procedures

The Dahn Healing Institute of Massage Therapy is dedicated to recruiting the most highly qualified and motivated candidates for admission.  We are proud of the diverse background of our student population who possess many unique gifts and talents, adding to the supportive and friendly atmosphere of our classes.

The admission process is therefore designed to not only assess the scholastic strength of the candididate, but also his or her potential to benefit from the program.  Many facets of the candidate are considered:  communication skills, intelligence, maturity, willingness to embrace and practice the philosophy of holistic health, and potential for personal growth.

  • Academic Requirements
Applicant must have graduated from high school or GED (or equivalent qualification)
Applicant must be 18 years or older
  • How to apply
Complete and submit an Application for Admission, along with a $75 non-refundable application fee.  Also, arrange for submission of a copy of high school diploma, or proof of equivalency.  A candidate will be  notified promptly of the receipt of his/her application and advised whether any of the required documents are missing.
An Admissions interview will be scheduled, which the candidate is required to attend to be considered for admissions.

  • Advanced Standing

Applicants who wish to be considered for advanced standing in one or more areas must make their request to the Admission Counselor at the time of their admissions interview.  Applications for advanced standing, in form of examination waivers or transfer credits, must be made prior to enrollment.  No prior learning credit will be given after the program has begun.

  • Course Transfer

To obtain a course transfer, the candidate must supply official transcripts for prior coursework and complete course description to the Admissions Dept. at the time of his/her interview.  The Director of DHI will determine any transfer credits to be awarded based upon the following criteria:

    2.  Advanced science/medical degree or training in Oriental Medicine.

  • Selection of Candidates
All admissions to the Dahn Healing Institute are considered on a continuous basis.  Once the interviewing process is complete, the applicant's file is reviewed by the Admissions Committee and the applicant is notified of the decision.

  • Accepting an offer of admissions

Applicats are notified in writing or by phone of their acceptance into the program.
